GOVT INSTITUTE OF GARMENT TECHNOLOGY-Hall gate- AMRITSAR (GIGT) was established in 2010 The campus Total area of institute is 3940 SQM approx covered Area is 1091.50 SQM. The institute is situated in the heart of the city, adjoining to the Historic Hall Gate of Amritsar(the well known place of Amritsar)The institute is nearly connected with Railway station, Bus stand, Golden Temple and all the important places of city.

Objective

The objective of the G.I.G.T is to create a learning environment for the trainees and provide opportunities for them to realize their complete potential.
Emphasis is laid on character building and development of individual aptitudes for learning and ability to adapt to the society.
Our main objectives are (i) To provide a curriculum designed to develop a trainee physically, intellectually and emotionally so that he/she emerges as a responsible and well balanced fully technically
(ii) To ensure a steady flow skilled workers in different trades for the industry.
(iii) To raise the quality and quantity of industrial production by systematic training of workers.
(iii) To reduce unemployment among the educated youth by equipping them for suitable industrial employment.
