Introduction
this institute is purely government institute for women only. It is situated near historical Fort Gobindgarh at the core of holy city Amritsar. It runs under the direction of Director technical education and industrial training Punjab, Chandigarh. It runs under the aegis of National council of Vocational Training. All courses done here are recognized world wide. Different type of courses are offered under the different schemes keeping in view the interest and need of the trainees.

Our mission is to obtain the objective to provide the quality skilled worker to industry for overall progress of country and to make the passed out trainees capable for self employment.
History
After the Indo-Pak partioning, institute was shifted from Lahore Pakistan to the Saraswati Mandir, Katra sufaid, Amritsar, India. Previously it was known as Cutting and sewing school. It was very famous to make the women self reliance.
In 1956 it was under taken by technical education department Punjab, In 1974 courses was affiliated to NCVT New Delhi. The institute was upgraded in 1993 under world bank scheme with the introduction of computer and IT courses for women.
In 2007, the institute upgraded under CoE scheme to bridge the gap of industry need and institute training level.

Our objective is to make the women youth skill full, independent in every aspect, disciplined patriotic citizens of India.
