The Managing Committee of this institution represents educationists administrators of par excellence and men of renown and missionary Zeal during the period of institutions has grown up as one the eminent centers of Education rendering unique services to the Nation. The institution excels not only academically but also in sports and extra curricular activities. We have well qualified & dedicated faculty and spacious building with perfect ventilation and lighting arrangements. It has big grassy lawns. The institution has been enjoying unique status among all existing I.T.I.s and Art and Craft Institutions. History

It is a matter of great privilege and Pride for me to introduce you with the Mehr Chand Technical Institute. Late Pt. Mehr Chand himself got the foundation stone of the institution building laid by Sir Bakshi Tek Chand on 12th March, 1944. The construction of building was started by Shri Balraj then president of DAV Managing Committee in 1951. The opening ceremony of this building was performed by Shri Bhim Sen Sachar Ex Chief Minister of Punjab on 13th October, 1954. It is also a matter of great pride for us as to presidents of India namely Dr. Rajinder Parshad and Dr. Radha Krishna visited this institute in 1954.
