Introduction

Rural Institute for Vocational Training (RIVT) is situated near the bus stand of the village Badal, in Shri Muktsar Sahib district of Punjab state (India). The Institute have highly qualified staff, State of Art Infrastructure, Airy Classrooms, Well-equiped library, Lush green lawns, College Canteen and Generator facility etc And the best thing about RIVT is well disciplined atmosphere. Its such that students feel highly confident, immensely vibrant and infinitely energetic, bubbling with various visions to steer the nation and the world for that matter to a state where democratic values are not only accepted or tolerated but also lived out with an earnest willingness.

To maintain a continuous interface with industry and to bring changes in time according to the needs of industry. To enhance the ability to anticipate and shape further the skills of budding engineers though individual and group activities to include and encourage a life long thirst for learning in students. To encourage the conceptual, inter personnel and team work skills for technical decision making among the students.

History

With the sincere efforts of Punjab Government Rural Institute For Vocational Training was set up in 2002 in village Badal (Muktsar) with modest motive to supply trained manpower in areas of Electrician, Plumber, Painter, Welder etc for meeting the requirements of the local industry. All the courses offered to the trainees in this institute are as per the SCVT, NCVT & DGE&T guidelines. The course for every trade in RIVT is designed in a way to impart basic technical skills both with the help of theory and practicals. This institute offers training in 5 trades including COPA, Electrician, Plumber, Painter, Welder. Total maximum sanctioned intake is 218 students per year. Training is also imparted in nonengineering areas of Computer Operator . The Institute as over the years developed into one of the best ITIs of the region with excellent training.
