Introduction

This institute has been started in 1955. At present, this institute is situated in Govt ITI Campus Nabha . At this time 04 units(160 seats) of Arts and Crafts teacher training trade are running in this institute. Mainly this institute is providing the training of painting, commercial art, design, theory of art, soft toy, clay modeling etc. In addition to this, Rs2.50 crore was given by the Govt.of India without any interest to this institute under Public Private patnership (PPP) scheme for the modernization and upgradation. Under this scheme the trades of Computer Operator & Programming Assistant (COPA), Information Technology & Electronics System Maintenance (IT&ESM) are running in this institute.

History

This institute has been started in 1955. Honourable Maharaja Ripudman Singh brought this institute from Spatu ( H.P.) to Nabha Distt. Patiala.This is the only one old institute of Punjab where Arts and crafts teacher training course has been imparted. The passed out trainees of this institute has been working as Drawing Master in schools of Punjab state as well as in neighouring states too. The building of this institute is situated in Govt ITI Campus Nabha. Earlier, from the Pepsu period(1950-55), Govt I.T.I.(Girls) was running in this building and this institute was running in Govt. Ripudman College campus but due to bad & unsafe condition of that building, this institute was shifted in the building of Govt.I.T.I.(Girls) Nabha in 2000-2001.
